Onyx CenterSource has introduced a new Commission Payment Status Tool designed to give travel agencies and independent advisors real-time updates on commission payments.
Commission payments move through several stages involving hotels, payment providers, and agencies. Advisors often lacked insight into the status of these funds or the cause of delays. This lack of visibility created uncertainty and forced agencies to waste time following up instead of focusing on client growth.
According to the announcement, the tool shows exactly where a hotel-initiated payment stands, from the hotel’s payment status through Onyx processing. Advisors can now see if funds have been received from the hotel partner, which triggers the payment to the agency.
The platform is accessible via the Onyx CenterSource website. Users enter details about a booking to view the current status. This self-service capability allows advisors to check progress without waiting for manual responses from support teams.
“We know that one of the biggest frustrations for advisors isn’t simply waiting for payment—it’s not knowing where a payment stands,” said Tony Wagner, chief commercial officer at Onyx CenterSource. “Commission payments involve multiple parties, and until now, there hasn’t been an easy way to see what’s happening behind the scenes.”

Onyx CenterSource developed the tool in response to feedback from the travel advisor community. The company emphasizes that when advisors have access to information, they can operate with more confidence. The tool reflects a broader commitment to transparency and trust within the industry.
Wagner added that transparency builds trust. He noted that when advisors have the information they need, they can run their businesses more effectively. This focus on visibility aims to reduce the need for manual follow-up and clarify next steps for users.
The launch is part of a multi-year investment by Onyx CenterSource to improve the commission experience. The company offers solutions where agency booking files are ingested and reconciled with hotel stay data. This approach provides maximum payment status transparency and optional collection services for agencies.
Travel agents often spend hours manually tracking down payments that are stuck in various stages of the workflow. The new tool cuts down on that administrative busywork. Instead of making phone calls or sending emails to check on a status, advisors can simply log in and see the current state of their funds. This shift allows them to allocate that saved time toward securing new bookings and serving their existing clients, which is the core of their business. The ability to see exactly where a payment sits in the chain—from the hotel to the payment provider—removes the guesswork that often leads to unnecessary anxiety.
